HealthEdge is seeking a Cloud IAM Operations Engineer to manage identity and access provisioning across its AWS environment. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role focused on day-to-day IAM operations rather than policy definition.
You will review incoming AWS access requests against least-privilege principles and organizational policy, then implement approved access using Infrastructure as Code (CDK preferred, or similar tools like Pulumi or CloudFormation). A key responsibility is managing the organization's Just-In-Time (JIT) access management tool to ensure all human-use AWS access is provisioned on-demand through JIT workflows rather than persistent permissions, reinforcing least-privilege and audit readiness.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate, auditable records of access grants, changes, and revocations; identifying and escalating access requests that fall outside standard policy or carry elevated risk; supporting periodic access reviews and recertification processes; and contributing to runbooks and documentation to improve consistency in the access request lifecycle. You'll also conduct periodic reviews of AWS IAM permission sets using IAM Access Analyzer to identify unused permissions and overly permissive policies, and partner with security architecture and IAM leadership on process improvements and automation opportunities.
You bring 2–4 years of experience in cloud security, IAM, or cloud technologies in AWS, with working knowledge of AWS IAM fundamentals (roles, policies, permission sets, least-privilege design). This is a people-facing role requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills. You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, understand access review and audit requirements in regulated environments, and have implemented or administered JIT access management tools. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment on access decisions, and clear written communication are essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare or other regulated industries (HIPAA/HITRUST awareness), familiarity with identity governance tooling and access certification workflows, and basic scripting ability (Python, TypeScript, or similar) to support IaC workflows.
