Karius is a venture-backed clinical metagenomics company developing next-generation sequencing diagnostics for infectious diseases. The company uses genomics and AI to detect microbial cell-free DNA in blood, enabling rapid diagnosis and treatment decisions for infectious disease patients.
The Clinical Sales Manager will lead commercial expansion of Karius's proprietary diagnostic test across hospitals and health systems in the Eastern Region. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, this role owns territory revenue growth and test volume by building relationships with infectious disease physicians, lab directors, C-suite executives, and clinical leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish new business in hospitals and increase volume in existing accounts
- Develop thought leaders and early adopters for the diagnostic platform
- Present product features and benefits using consultative sales techniques (qualifying leads, assessing needs, supporting evaluations, closing deals)
- Serve as subject matter expert on the science and technology of the Karius test
- Build deep, trusted-advisor relationships across multiple hospital stakeholders
- Secure and manage long-term partner contracts and renewals
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to achieve territory goals
- Partner with Clinical/Medical Affairs teams and Medical Science Liaisons on account interactions
- Identify and co-manage regional meeting opportunities and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) panels
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, industry conferences, and trade shows
- Manage administrative duties including SalesForce documentation and expense reporting
