As a Claims Representative in APD Estimating, you will play a critical role during one of the most important moments for Clearcover customers—filing an insurance claim. You will conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess damage extent, handling a blended assignment load of original estimates, supplements, and total loss valuations. Your responsibilities include identifying and documenting all visible and hidden damage (structural, mechanical, and cosmetic), proactively communicating with vehicle owners, insurance adjusters, and repair facilities, and negotiating repair costs and timelines to ensure quality work within budget and schedule.
You will review and analyze repair invoices for accuracy and compliance with estimate guidelines, provide timely updates to all stakeholders throughout the repair process, manage repairs and rental expenses to completion, and resolve disputes or discrepancies related to repair costs or claim settlements. You are expected to stay current on industry trends, repair techniques, and new vehicle technologies. The role requires strong technical knowledge of automotive repair processes, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals. You must be empathetic, patient, calm under pressure, and passionate about creating positive customer relationships.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education or certification in automotive repair or related field preferred)
- 5+ years prior experience as an auto damage appraiser, estimator, or similar role within automotive or insurance industry
- Active adjuster's license (required)
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Mitchell
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive repair processes including mechanical, electrical, and structural components
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
