Anduril Industries is seeking a Chief Systems Architect to lead the Systems Integrity Group (SIG) within the Maritime Digital Production (MDP) division. MDP is the software and digital systems backbone of Anduril's Heavy Metal shipbuilding factories, responsible for the full technology stack that powers modern defense manufacturing.
In this role, you will architect and build federated co-simulation and digital twin validation frameworks that ensure manufactured output matches engineering intent before changes reach the shop floor. You will own the development of verification tooling and automated V&V frameworks that validate everything from component geometry to assembly sequences to system performance.
Key responsibilities include: architecting simulation frameworks using Unreal Engine 5 for high-fidelity 3D factory visualizations; designing and implementing integration layers between simulation systems and live production data from the Unified Namespace; building V&V automation pipelines that continuously validate system integrity across design, manufacturing, and operations; deploying and operating systems in factory environments including edge compute clusters and OT networks; and owning the architectural vision for how simulation, digital twin, and verification systems integrate with MES, ERP, PLM, and enterprise systems.
You will partner closely with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to understand production workflows and translate them into software requirements. You'll write production-quality code with comprehensive tests, participate in architectural discussions, and leverage AI tooling in your development workflow. The role includes hiring, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers focused on simulation, visualization, and V&V capabilities, as well as joining an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems.
MDP operates at the critical boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology, where factory-floor machines, edge compute, and OT networks meet enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure. This is a strategic investment in end-to-end manufacturing digitization—when these systems go down, production stops. You will be joining early in the team's scaling from a founding team to 70+ engineers across multiple U.S. sites, working on hard problems with real operational stakes.
