Shield AI is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead technical strategy and execution for autonomous weapon systems integration. In this C-level engineering role, you will serve as the chief technical authority overseeing system architecture, design, development, risk mitigation, and product quality for the Hivemind Autonomy platform deployed across unmanned weapon systems.
You will lead a team of engineers within the Hivemind Solutions organization, driving the development and deployment of cutting-edge autonomous capabilities for defense and B2B contracts. Your responsibilities include:
- Defining and owning system architecture for autonomous weapon platforms
- Leading technical teams through complex integration challenges
- Ensuring product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across defense contracts
- Mitigating technical and operational risks in autonomous systems deployment
- Collaborating with business and defense stakeholders to align technical roadmap with contract requirements
- Establishing engineering best practices and standards for autonomous systems development
The ideal candidate brings extensive defense industry experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent technical leader, with a proven track record of successfully developing, testing, and deploying autonomous systems in operational environments. You should have deep expertise in unmanned systems architecture, autonomous decision-making algorithms, systems integration, and defense procurement processes. Leadership experience managing senior technical teams is essential.
