Octopus Electric Vehicles, part of the Octopus Energy Group, is seeking a Capital Markets Operations Analyst to join their growing Capital Markets team. This is a hybrid role based in London (minimum 2 days per week in office) supporting the company's increasingly sophisticated funding requirements as it scales its electric vehicle leasing business. You will be the operational engine of the Capital Markets team, owning the end-to-end production of institutional investor reports and ensuring funding facilities run accurately and on schedule. Your responsibilities will include: • Securitisation & Investor Reporting: Own the production of institutional investor reports, facility utilisation tracking, and loan-level data tapes. You will build these reports directly, ensuring high accuracy and consistency across all deliverables. • Fund Sweep & Cash Operations: Facilitate facility cash sweeps by validating rental fees, termination totals, and buyback settlements across securitisation structures. • Portfolio & Asset Tracking: Maintain asset lifecycle trackers (end-of-lease, defaults, buybacks) to provide real-time visibility over reserve assets and borrowing base capacity. • Covenant & Trigger Monitoring: Monitor transaction covenants and performance triggers across securitisation facilities, flagging potential breaches to the wider Capital Markets team. • Audit & Reconciliation: Lead reconciliations between loan-level data tapes and facility summary reports. Prepare materials for investor audit requests and identify/resolve discrepancies independently. • Process & Data Optimization: Partner with Finance, Data, and Operations teams to validate data workflows in Databricks and drive scalable improvements across reporting processes. Octopus Energy Group is a mission-driven organisation focused on accelerating the transition to a net-zero economy through innovative financing solutions. The company was named 6th in the top 100 start-ups to work for by Tempo in 2025 and won Sunday Times Best Company to Work For in 2024. REQUIREMENTS: • Degree in Finance or related discipline, plus 1–3 years of work or internship experience in finance, or in a role involving large, complex datasets. Capital Markets background not required, but you need real experience working with numbers at scale. • Experience building, auditing, or maintaining spreadsheet-based models and trackers to a solid working level. You understand how input errors propagate and build in checks to catch them before delivery. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a reporting deliverable from start to finish, not just review or QA someone else's output. At smaller scale, you've taken a dataset or report from raw numbers to a complete, accurate document independently. • Self-driven problem-solving mindset with genuine willingness to learn unfamiliar financial structures quickly and reach out across the business when something doesn't reconcile. • Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting data-driven findings to internal stakeholders. • Genuine motivation to apply your financial and technical skillset to a business funding the transition to electric vehicles.
