Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI, designing and operating global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems. You will own Mecka's entire calibration pipeline, from camera intrinsics to IMU alignment to factory calibration infrastructure. This is a hands-on, deeply practical role working directly with cameras, IMUs, and multi-sensor rigs to ensure capture systems produce accurate, reliable data at scale. Immediate priorities include delivering production-quality calibration values for IMU and camera systems (intrinsic and extrinsic) and assessing/improving current calibration workflows. Ongoing responsibilities span owning the entire calibration pipeline, ensuring factory calibration is performed properly and consistently, building and maintaining calibration infrastructure (tooling, fixtures, validation scripts, documentation), developing automated calibration verification and QA systems, collaborating with hardware and embedded teams on sensor mounting and alignment, and debugging calibration-related issues across deployed systems. Required skills include practical hands-on experience with camera calibration (intrinsics, extrinsics, stereo, multi-camera rigs), IMU calibration and tuning (bias estimation, alignment, noise characterization), understanding of sensor fusion fundamentals, experience building calibration tooling for production environments, and fluency in Mandarin with ability to obtain work authorization in China. Strong signals include manufacturing or hardware deployment experience with calibration at scale, familiarity with OpenCV/Kalibr or similar frameworks, multi-sensor calibration experience, background in autonomous vehicles/robotics/AR-VR hardware calibration, factory/production line calibration processes, and knowledge of uncertainty quantification and error analysis. You are extremely detail-oriented and methodical, comfortable working with physical hardware, able to design repeatable scalable processes, and a strong debugger who can trace data quality issues to root causes. This role offers end-to-end calibration ownership at a robotics data infrastructure company, direct impact on data quality feeding ML and perception systems, work with cutting-edge multi-sensor hardware, and high autonomy from day one.
