Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion. The Air Dominance & Strike team develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems, including Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile), powered by Lattice OS—an AI-powered operating system that transforms thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control.
You will join the Mission Autonomy team as a C++ software engineer, responsible for building the autonomy software stack that enables masses of robotic systems to collaborate across missions. This includes computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications. You'll work closely with specialist teams in Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve critical problems for military customers.
Required: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. 3+ years of production-grade C++ and/or Rust in Linux environments. Experience building software for significant data processing and analysis. Ability to understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases. Eligibility for U.S. Top Secret security clearance. Willingness to travel up to 30% for real-world testing and deployment.
Preferred: Strong background in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning. Experience developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments. Feature and algorithm development with behavior trees. Flight systems and safety-critical software development. Distributed communication networks and message standards. Knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
This is a full-time role with competitive salary ($166k–$220k USD), equity grants, and comprehensive benefits. Multiple office locations available: Costa Mesa CA, Seattle WA, or Washington DC.
