GitLab is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join the Go To Market team, based remotely in Australia (Sydney or Melbourne). In this role, you will lead initial outreach to Enterprise and Mid-Market accounts across Australia, working alongside Field and Digital Marketing teams to introduce GitLab's DevSecOps platform and generate qualified pipeline for the sales organization.
Key responsibilities include managing inbound lead flow and executing outbound prospecting initiatives, conducting discovery conversations with target accounts, and meeting SAO (Sales Accepted Opportunity) volume targets. You will develop targeted account lists, call strategies, and messaging in collaboration with teammates, leveraging business and industry knowledge to identify key decision-makers and compelling events. You'll execute multi-touch campaigns (calls, emails, social outreach) using Outreach.io, manage activities in Salesforce, and participate in field marketing events to engage prospects and schedule meetings.
Additionally, you will mentor new BDR hires, collaborate with Digital Marketing on targeted tactics, and contribute innovative ideas to refine BDR strategies. The role requires strong English proficiency (other Asian languages a plus), excellent phone and writing skills, and a self-starter mentality with a proven track record of meeting targets through persistence and effective objection handling.
Required experience includes developing Enterprise and Mid-Market business in Australia, proficiency with Salesforce and LinkedIn, and previous tech industry or sales development background. Familiarity with prospecting tools (Zoominfo, Cognism, Outreach, 6Sense) is advantageous. GitLab provides extensive onboarding and training in DevOps and platform knowledge, so deep technical expertise is not required at hire.
