As a Business Development Representative, you will be a core member of the sales team, responsible for building a healthy pipeline for Account Executives. Your primary focus is qualifying inbound leads and proactively prospecting into high-value target accounts. You'll engage in thoughtful, technical conversations with a knowledgeable customer base—developers, ML engineers, and business decision-makers evaluating AI inference solutions.
Key responsibilities include: strategically prospecting into key accounts via email, phone, and LinkedIn; consistently meeting new business opportunity and pipeline generation targets; crafting personalized outreach through research to identify and prioritize the right accounts; qualifying and smoothly transitioning inbound leads to Account Executives; acting as a brand ambassador educating prospects on Fireworks' inference solutions; collaborating with Sales and Marketing to refine messaging based on market feedback; and staying current on AI/ML trends to conduct informed conversations with both technical and business audiences.
The ideal candidate is results-driven, exhibits strong intellectual curiosity about the evolving AI space, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You should be comfortable initiating outreach, handling nuanced product discussions, and helping prospects understand how generative AI impacts their business.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; demonstrated interest in technology sales with strong interest in AI and machine learning; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage confidently with technical stakeholders; self-motivated and organized with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred qualifications include prior startup or entrepreneurial experience; customer-facing role experience in SaaS, AI, or emerging tech; familiarity with CRM systems and sales engagement tools (Salesforce, Outreach, Apollo); degree in engineering or computer science; active involvement in AI/tech communities.
