Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator, is hiring a Business Development Representative to drive growth across its suite of financial products including managed investing, trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, and spending/saving solutions. The company serves over 4 million Canadians and manages $155+ billion in assets under administration.
In this role, you will engage with leads sourced by the Growth Marketing team and through your own prospecting via phone, email, and SMS. You'll assess whether clients can be self-served or require human sales support, then lead with value before introducing offers. Using a needs-based approach, you'll conduct structured discovery to understand clients' full financial pictures—including assets held at other institutions—to identify consolidation and cross-sell opportunities across Wealthsimple's product suite.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging prospects and qualifying leads through consultative discovery
- Identifying wallet-share consolidation and cross-sell opportunities
- Building and managing your own pipeline alongside assigned leads
- Cultivating referrals and nurturing dormant opportunities
- Maintaining awareness of product priorities (margin accounts, active trading, cash balances vs. passive registered products)
- Managing deals through completion and achieving monthly Net Deposit quotas and daily KPIs
You'll work in a hybrid environment with 1,500+ employees across North America, with the flexibility to work outside Canada for up to 90 days per year. Benefits include top-tier health coverage, employer-matched savings, 20 vacation days, 4 wellness days, unlimited sick/mental health days, and employee resource groups.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–4 years of sales experience, ideally with consultative or discovery-based components; financial services or SaaS backgrounds preferred
- Undergraduate or post-secondary degree in a related field
- Working financial literacy across account types (registered vs. non-registered, borrowing vs. deposit products)
- Experience with sales technology (Salesforce, Salesloft, Gong, or equivalents)
- Consultative discovery skills; natural curiosity and strong communication
- AI-forward productivity; goal-oriented with resilience and resourcefulness
- Self-starter mentality with adaptability to evolving priorities
- Recommended: completion of or progress toward Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) course
