As a Business Development Representative, you will drive revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing high-potential leads for enterprise AI solutions across industries including finance, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and public sector.
You will serve as the first point of contact for prospects, understanding their business needs and aligning them with Cohere's products to solve complex challenges in natural language processing, AI integration, and scalable language models. Key responsibilities include proactively researching and identifying target accounts using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM platforms, conducting 40+ outbound calls and personalized emails daily to engage decision-makers (CTOs, CIOs, Business Unit leads), and qualifying leads using the BANT framework while documenting interactions in Salesforce.
You'll collaborate with marketing to refine messaging and campaigns based on prospect feedback, stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings, and run independent sales cycles on smaller opportunities from introduction to close. The role requires 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles in SaaS or tech environments, with a proven track record of exceeding lead generation targets.
Required skills include strong communication abilities to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot, and experience in AI, machine learning, or enterprise software sales with basic understanding of NLP concepts. Closing experience is advantageous. A builder mindset is essential as challenges will be unique and the role will evolve over time.
