Carta is a connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital, trusted by 55,000 companies and 1.8M+ equity holders globally, plus 10,000 funds and SPVs representing $250B+ in assets under management.
You will expand Carta's distribution and market share in the UK and Europe by deepening relationships with key channel partners and developing new ones. You'll represent Carta as a valuable contributor to the venture capital ecosystem, driving VC-backed companies to adopt Carta's platform.
Key responsibilities:
- Create champions for Carta's products within the VC ecosystem by partnering with and developing scalable strategies for law firms, audit/accounting firms, consultants, compliance firms, industry groups, and tech partners.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, Engineering, Implementations, Support, Sales, and Marketing to collect industry feedback, relay insights internally, and drive conversations around deepening mutual client penetration with preferred partners.
- Develop and execute strategies to convert partners where Carta lacks deep relationships into preferred partners.
- Coordinate with the Sales team to activate mutual books of business with partners.
- Lead discovery on additional value-add opportunities for partners to drive new business to Carta.
- Drive non-linear referral motions with partners to reliably achieve 50%+ increases in referrals.
- Create awareness of Carta's product for VC-backed companies by identifying and attending conferences and industry events.
- Represent Carta in the field, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events (up to 25% travel).
You'll join the Business Development team supporting VC-backed companies globally, managing existing relationships and developing business opportunities in the UK and Europe. The role works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships and accelerate business growth. Ideal candidates are energized by building and managing impactful external relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable best practices, constructing strategic communications, and creating more owners across a rapidly evolving industry.

Qualifications:
- Outgoing, natural networker with experience building and maintaining relationships
- Knowledge of the VC ecosystem in the UK, including legal firms, accelerators, VCs, and the broader industry
- Familiarity with cap tables and venture-backed fundraising
- Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills with experience attending industry events
Nice-to-have:
- Relevant network of contacts within the community, specifically venture capital firms and law firms, plus service providers supporting them
- Prior experience building relationships or servicing funds as an industry partner supporting VC or private equity clients
- Prior experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners including investment funds, consultants, compliance providers, industry groups, investment platforms, wealth managers, or other technology companies
- Understanding of fund formation, regulations applying to funds, fund administration, fundraising, or valuation services
