Bókun, a Tripadvisor company, is the market-leading booking and channel management platform for the tours and activities industry. This newly created Business Development Executive role bridges the gap between self-serve customer acquisition and dedicated enterprise account management.
You will own and grow a portfolio of mid-market accounts with real growth potential, nurturing them toward Key Account status where applicable while providing consistent account management and retention for those that remain in this tier. You'll also proactively identify and convert Experience Operators whose needs exceed self-serve capabilities, representing Bókun at industry events and trade shows to build pipeline and relationships through in-person prospecting.
Key responsibilities include running consultative discovery calls, demos, and webinars that showcase the Bókun platform's value; working alongside Business Development Managers to qualify potential enterprise opportunities; using Salesforce to track pipeline, spot trends, and refine outreach strategies; and consistently meeting targets across new business acquisition, account growth, and retention.
This role is built for someone equally comfortable with cold prospecting and nurturing warm opportunities—patient enough to play the long game with accounts while driven to win new business. You'll help build the playbook for this newly defined role rather than simply follow an existing one.
The position is hybrid, requiring 2–3 days per week/month in the Reykjavík office. Tripadvisor offers competitive compensation (base salary plus annual bonuses), flexible work arrangements, tuition assistance, annual lifestyle benefits, travel perks, health benefits, and a generous referral scheme.
**Requirements:**
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, ideally in SaaS or B2B
- Proven track record spanning both new business acquisition and existing account growth
- Comfort working in a role still being defined; ability to help build processes and playbooks
- Confident, consultative communication skills (phone, webinar, trade show floor)
- Highly organized with ability to manage a large, varied portfolio of accounts simultaneously
- Meticulous CRM discipline; proficiency with Salesforce and data-driven decision-making
- Willingness to travel for industry events and in-person prospecting
- Self-motivation, resilience, and genuine curiosity about growing travel businesses
- Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more additional European languages (Spanish, Italian, German) highly desirable
