Relativity Space is building Terran R, a next-generation launch vehicle designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit and meet growing demand for commercial launch capacity. The Reliability team embeds quality assurance throughout the design, manufacturing, test, and launch phases of the vehicle development and production process.
As a Build Reliability Engineer II, you will own critical reliability functions across multiple domains as Terran R transitions from development into production and scaled operations. Your responsibilities span design standardization, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), configuration management and control, work instruction review, process development, standard rework and repair documentation, in-process build verification, and coordinate traveled work. You will work directly with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to understand constraints, identify risks proactively, and shape engineering decisions that balance speed with reliability.
This is a hands-on role where you'll establish processes, controls, and inspections that scale with the program without slowing momentum. You'll foster a culture of ownership, contribute to quality system development, and see your work directly impact a tangible, fast-moving aerospace program. The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to solve novel problems in rocket manufacturing and reliability engineering at a critical inflection point—early enough to shape product and process, but far enough along that hardware is in production.
