Kittl is an AI-native design operating system for creative businesses, with 11M+ users and $50M+ in funding (Series B, backed by IVP). The company is headquartered in Berlin with offices in Düsseldorf and remote team members globally.
This Brand Marketing Lead role owns Kittl's voice, story, and brand positioning. The company's marketing is currently conversion-led and performance-focused, but lacks cohesive brand identity and awareness-building. You'll be the primary voice defining how Kittl feels and ensuring target audiences (small business founders) know the brand exists.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and codify Kittl's voice and tone, then write foundational brand work (manifestos, campaign copy, landing pages, launch narratives) that sets the standard
- Conceive and lead brand activations, stunts, and campaigns designed to reach founders and drive genuine engagement—from concept through delivery
- Represent brand thinking in leadership and strategy conversations, pushing back on decisions that threaten brand consistency
- Identify unconventional awareness-building opportunities (partnerships, community moments, founder events) beyond paid and influencer channels
- Develop bold ad concepts for growth/performance marketing that convert, not just attract attention
- Guide teams early (briefs, reviews) to ensure tone and ambition are right from the start
- Audit messaging and presence across all touchpoints (website, landing pages, scripts, campaigns, activations) for consistency and excellence
You bring 5+ years of career experience, ideally with 2–3 years at a creative/brand agency followed by in-house brand work at a startup or fast-growing company. FMCG, DTC, or consumer goods background is a strong plus. You're comfortable being the sole brand voice in a growth-led organization, operating with real autonomy, and pushing for ambition without being precious. Social media or community-building experience is valued.
The role requires someone who notices details others miss, moves with velocity, owns problems end-to-end, and uses AI as a tool while maintaining full ownership of shipped work. You should be energized by having your thinking challenged openly and prefer making calls and adjusting over waiting for certainty.
