Motorway is the UK's largest online car-selling platform, connecting private sellers with over 8,000 dealers nationwide. Founded in 2017 and backed by leading technology investors with £143 million in Series C funding, the company is at a critical growth phase.
This consultative B2B sales role focuses on driving platform adoption across UK car dealerships and encouraging active daily auction participation. You will manage a diverse portfolio of dealer partners, ranging from onboarding new businesses and re-engaging lapsed accounts to optimizing performance for established buyers.
Key responsibilities include conducting high-level business conversations to uncover dealership needs and position Motorway as a long-term inventory solution; onboarding new partners and re-engaging cold accounts; clearly articulating ROI to hesitant dealers while building sustainable buying habits; maintaining exceptional CRM hygiene using HubSpot; confidently navigating objections and following up consistently; collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve dealer challenges and feed market insights to product; and taking ownership of sales targets.
You bring B2B or outbound sales experience with a consultative mindset—asking smart questions before pitching and tailoring value propositions to each business. You have an exceptional telephone manner, confidence speaking with business owners and decision-makers, and CRM competency (HubSpot or similar). You're resilient and driven, motivated by customer success over quick closes, and genuinely energized by hitting and exceeding targets. You're coachable and take ownership of your development.
Motorway offers a competitive package: £26,000 starting salary (OTE £48,000), flexible work-from-home 1 day per week, stock options, pension scheme, professional development budget, comprehensive health insurance, cycle-to-work scheme, one paid volunteering day annually, and generous parental benefits including 6 months full paid maternity leave. The team is collaborative and tight-knit, based in a sea-fronted Brighton office in the heart of the city with regular social events and weekly massages.
