DeepL is seeking a Senior Solutions Consultant for its Tokyo office to lead complex enterprise deals and drive adoption of its Language AI platform. In this hands-on role, you will partner closely with sales teams to design and deliver solutions for Japanese enterprise customers, working across DeepL's full product suite including AI translation, workflow automation, APIs, and DeepL Voice for real-time multilingual communication.
Key responsibilities include leading discovery, demos, and solution design for mid-to-high complexity deals; building prototypes, POCs, and proof-of-value environments; managing multiple concurrent deals with minimal oversight while maintaining high customer satisfaction; building relationships with C-suite and cross-functional stakeholders; collaborating with sales on account strategy and competitive positioning; representing solutions consulting in internal discussions with legal, security, product, and marketing teams; autonomously managing RFI/RFP processes; coaching junior consultants; and identifying process improvements and product feedback from customer interactions.
You will have significant influence in a small but growing Japanese team, with opportunity to shape how solutions consulting operates. The role requires hands-on technical depth—you'll build demos and environments yourself, not just create decks. You'll bridge business and technical conversations, translating customer needs into product value and guiding sales on technical feasibility and differentiation.
Required experience: 5+ years as a Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, or Presales professional, ideally in Enterprise SaaS, AI, CCaaS, or language technology. You must have a track record of directly contributing to deal closure through discovery, demos, and solution design. Technical foundation required: REST APIs, authentication/SSO protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Azure AD), and common SaaS integration patterns. Strong understanding of security and compliance; ability to engage with IT and legal teams. Fluent Japanese (native level) and business-level English required. RFI/RFP process experience, high presentation and communication skills, and a habit of post-deal retrospectives are essential.
