GitLab is seeking an Associate Solutions Architect to join its SMB EMEA Sales team. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted technical advisor to prospects and customers, helping them understand how GitLab's DevSecOps platform addresses both technical requirements and business objectives across the software development lifecycle.
You'll guide organizations through digital transformation journeys from planning through monitoring, leveraging your technical expertise, cloud knowledge, and customer empathy. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect manager and partnering closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams, you'll own technical evaluations including proof-of-value initiatives and workshops, shape solution architectures, and advocate for customer needs back to Product Management.
Key responsibilities include: driving platform adoption and revenue growth through solution selling; educating SMB customers on GitLab's value proposition; guiding technical evaluations via POC/POV ownership, RFP support, and workshop design; building relationships with customer stakeholders to create GitLab advocates; serving as customer advocate to Product, Sales, and Marketing teams; and continuously improving professional skills through training and mentorship.
You'll complete an onboarding plan in the first 30 days, gain comprehensive platform and DevOps knowledge within two months through peer collaboration and shadowing, and begin customer engagement in a technical consultancy role within three months. The role emphasizes solution selling, technical architecture, and building long-term trust-based relationships that showcase GitLab's differentiated position in the AI-driven DevSecOps landscape.
Required: 1-2+ years of pre-sales, consulting, or similar customer-facing roles; understanding of end-to-end software development lifecycle and modern DevSecOps practices; practical cloud computing knowledge; ability to lead technical evaluations and contribute to tenders; fluency in French or German.
