Snowflake is seeking an Associate Solution Engineer to join its Solution Engineering team in Tokyo. This role bridges sales and technical delivery, supporting the sales team and partners in understanding customer challenges and demonstrating Snowflake's value across the deal lifecycle—from initial proposal through technical validation and post-sale enablement.
You will work alongside experienced Solution Engineers and sales professionals to deliver presentations, product demonstrations, and technical explanations to prospects and existing customers. Your responsibilities include understanding customer business and technical requirements, connecting them to Snowflake's capabilities, and supporting proof-of-concept (PoC) and technical validation activities. You'll help accelerate customer decision-making throughout the sales cycle while continuously learning about data, cloud, and AI technologies.
You will collaborate with internal teams across product, engineering, and marketing to share field insights and customer feedback. The role emphasizes progressive skill development in technical depth, presentation ability, and customer solution design.
Required qualifications include strong interest in SaaS, cloud, data platforms, analytics, and AI with commitment to continuous learning. You should be able to explain technical concepts clearly to both customers and internal stakeholders. Foundational knowledge of databases, data warehouses, ETL, analytics, and cloud technology is essential, along with SQL and data utilization basics. You need problem-solving ability to connect customer challenges to solutions, a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent professional experience, fluent Japanese, and comfort working in English. Collaborative mindset and ability to drive results as part of a team are critical.
Preferred experience includes presales, solution consulting, Sales Engineering, or similar roles; hands-on experience with demos, PoCs, or customer presentations; knowledge of public cloud, BI, data integration, and AI/ML; exposure to both technical and business aspects in customer-facing environments; and ability to self-educate in fast-moving contexts.
