Commvault is seeking an Associate Sales Engineer to serve as a technical pre-sales professional partnering with Account Executives to drive revenue through customer engagement and solution architecture. This role is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL and requires an on-site presence. You will act as a trusted advisor to prospective and existing customers, helping them solve complex data protection, cyber resilience, and cloud infrastructure challenges while aligning Commvault solutions to business outcomes. The Associate Sales Engineer engages confidently with executive leadership, architects, operations, and security teams to understand their technical and business requirements. Key responsibilities include owning technical strategy for assigned opportunities throughout enterprise sales cycles, leading discovery sessions with stakeholders, translating requirements into compelling solution architectures, and delivering customized demonstrations and workshops. You will design and execute Proof of Concept engagements, develop technical account strategies, lead RFP/RFI responses, and maintain deep expertise across cloud platforms, cyber resilience, and data protection technologies. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, customer success, and support teams to ensure customer success and provide market feedback that influences product direction. The role also involves identifying expansion opportunities within existing customer relationships through consultative solution selling. Required qualifications include 3–5 years of experience in technical sales support, sales engineering, systems engineering, or solutions architecture. You must have proven success leading enterprise presales engagements for cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or enterprise software solutions, with hands-on experience on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Knowledge of enterprise databases (MSSQL, Oracle, SAP, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and software licensing models is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, and willing to travel as needed.
