Daymark Health is a value-based oncology company redefining cancer care through a comprehensive, personalized platform combining dedicated care navigation, symptom-focused support, behavioral health, and social resources with evidence-based interventions and hybrid in-person/virtual care.
As Associate General Counsel, you will be Daymark's first in-house lawyer, reporting directly to the CEO and joining the senior leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to build the legal function from the ground up for a fast-growing, multi-state care model expanding its provider footprint and value-based contracts with national and regional health plans.
Your first 90 days focus on learning the business and setting the roadmap. You will serve as company-wide general counsel covering corporate governance, board matters, entity formation, M&A support, and commercial contracting. You'll lead corporate practice of medicine (CPOM) analysis across all states of operation, advising on permissible ownership and governance structures for provider-based entities. You'll support payer and value-based care contracting from LOI through execution, including delegation agreements and data use terms. You'll lead resolution of payer disputes and manage outside counsel relationships.
By 6 months, you'll build the foundation for regulatory, privacy, and people work enabling growth into new markets. This includes advising on Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act exposure; monitoring state-specific licensure and scope of practice rules; partnering on compliance and clinical staffing models; owning HIPAA and state privacy compliance; reviewing data use terms in agreements; building legal and governance frameworks for AI use; managing vendor and technology agreements; handling multi-state employment law matters; managing corporate insurance programs; and protecting IP.
By 12 months, legal becomes a trusted, predictable part of how Daymark grows. You'll advise the executive team and board on legal risk across strategic initiatives, establish scalable processes for contract review and regulatory tracking, and optimize outside counsel for cost and quality.
You'll thrive here if you've operated as a true legal generalist inside a healthcare company, are fluent in value-based care contracting, and are excited by building something foundational.

- Experience with multi-state employment law for distributed or clinical workforces
- Prior experience as Associate General Counsel or senior deputy, comfortable spanning governance, M&A, commercial, and employment matters without a large team
