Mirum Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on rare disease treatments, is seeking an Associate Director of Strategic Engagement to serve as a key strategic partner between the company and the healthcare community. This field-based marketing role focuses on cultivating and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), thought leaders, and external stakeholders in Genetics, Endocrinology, and Metabolics (GEM). The successful candidate will build scientific credibility, support brand strategy, and ensure aligned, compliant engagement with external experts. Key responsibilities include developing and communicating strategic vision for KOL engagement across the western United States; developing and overseeing individual KOL mapping and engagement plans; partnering closely with the Director of Marketing for GEM brands; building collaborative relationships across Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, and Medical Affairs; working with Field Sales on thought leader initiatives; collecting and synthesizing market insights to inform brand tactics; ensuring compliant, value-added connections between thought leaders and Mirum; collaborating with Medical Leadership on engagement strategy and advisory boards; soliciting KOL feedback to shape brand strategy; contributing to conference/congress marketing strategy; developing KPIs and metrics with portfolio leaders; serving as primary field contact for KOL engagement and speaker identification; analyzing market data; and proactively engaging Legal and Compliance to ensure ethical program delivery. The role requires approximately 65% domestic travel throughout the US, with the candidate expected to live near a major airport and travel regularly throughout the assigned western territory and attend meetings at Mirum offices and off-site locations. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree (required) - Minimum 6 years of pharmaceutical or related industry experience, primarily in customer-facing capacity (required) - Minimum 3 years working with Genetics and/or Endocrinology KOLs (preferred) - Minimum 2 years working in cross-collaboration, matrix environment (preferred) - Healthcare provider background (genetic counselors, APPs) with 3-5 years genetics/endocrinology experience considered as alternative - Strategic thinking with ability to work hands-on on multiple priorities - Ability to draw insights from various sources and understand market/competition - Data compilation and analysis skills - Positive mindset with ability to build lasting relationships; outgoing personality required - Experience in cross-collaborative internal environments - Ability to synthesize complex information and recognize trends - Strong project management experience with multiple stakeholders and vendors - Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
