Salary: USD 152,600 - 283,400 / annual
DTX Pharma (a Novartis Company) is seeking an Associate Director, Patient Marketing Strategy to lead patient and caregiver engagement initiatives for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). This role bridges patient insights, behavioral science, and commercial strategy to shape disease awareness, treatment readiness, and launch execution.
Key responsibilities include developing integrated patient and caregiver marketing strategies grounded in insights and advocacy partnerships; creating patient content, unbranded and branded campaigns, educational resources, and digital experiences; designing disease-state education programs addressing FSHD progression, diagnosis, genetic confirmation, and specialist care coordination; conducting patient journey mapping and segmentation to identify barriers and activation opportunities; partnering with advocacy organizations and patient communities to build trusted engagement; building activation and retention programs supporting informed provider conversations and treatment readiness; identifying system-level barriers to diagnosis and access, translating them into measurable interventions; collaborating across Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Compliance, and agency partners; and defining marketing priorities, budgets, KPIs, and optimization plans to measure engagement and launch readiness.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field; minimum 5 years commercial marketing experience in rare disease, specialty, neurology, neuromuscular, genetic testing, or complex chronic conditions; minimum 3 years leveraging data, analytics, and customer insights for personalization at scale; strong cross-functional leadership; experience developing patient disease-state education and advocacy partnerships; expertise in patient journey optimization, behavioral insights, segmentation, digital engagement, and omnichannel activation; pre-launch and launch experience including market shaping and cross-functional execution.
Desirable: Master's degree or MBA; multi-functional pharmaceutical or healthcare experience; Novartis background.
The role is based in East Hanover, NJ or Cambridge, MA (no remote option; local candidates only). Up to 20% domestic/international travel required. Salary range: $152,600–$283,400 annually, plus performance-based cash incentive and potential equity awards.
