Axios is hiring an Associate Director for Local Client Partnerships to drive revenue growth across local markets through new partner acquisition and account expansion. This is a high-impact, revenue-generating role reporting to the Managing Director of Regional Client Partnerships.
You will own and grow a local sales territory by developing and executing a clear outbound sales strategy focused on net-new revenue and category expansion. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a robust pipeline through consistent prospecting, networking, and market engagement; identifying, prioritizing, and winning new business with local and regional advertisers; and leading the full sales cycle from outreach to close.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of sales experience in the digital media/news industry, with a strong emphasis on outbound and new business development. You should have a proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets, particularly through new logo acquisition, and strong confidence in selling to senior decision-makers. Experience developing territory or category-level sales strategies is essential, along with understanding of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios' competitive landscape.
You will need strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to lead deal execution across internal teams. Existing relationships within local/regional advertiser and agency ecosystems are preferred. The role requires a highly motivated, resilient mindset energized by prospecting and closing, plus willingness to travel and represent Axios in-market.
