Ascendis Pharma, a global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an Associate Director of Global Medical Writing to lead the development of high-quality scientific publications supporting clinical development programs in endocrinology. Based in Hellerup, Denmark, you will drive the creation and delivery of peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, conference posters, and oral presentations that communicate clinical trial outcomes to the scientific community.
You will partner with internal cross-functional teams including Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs, and Publication Planning, as well as external investigators and key opinion leaders. Your responsibilities include drafting and revising scientific publications, developing publication strategies and timelines, ensuring scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance, leading review and revision processes with authors and stakeholders, and conducting literature reviews to support high-quality communications.
The ideal candidate holds a master's degree or PhD in a relevant field and brings 8+ years of experience in scientific and medical writing within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare settings. You must have a solid understanding of publication regulations and industry guidance (ICMJE, Good Publication Practice guidelines), the ability to independently interpret clinical data from study reports and protocols, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in endocrinology or rare disease is advantageous but not required; CMPP certification is an asset.
You are a collaborative team player with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple publication projects simultaneously. An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort thriving in an informal, innovative environment are essential. The role requires approximately 10-20 days of travel per year. This is a full-time, in-office position at Ascendis' headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark.
