Karius is a venture-backed clinical metagenomics company advancing diagnostic science for infectious diseases through genomics and AI. The company detects microbial cell-free DNA in blood to help physicians make rapid treatment decisions, identifying over 1,000 pathogens directly from blood samples. The Associate Clinical Sales Manager (ACSM) is a field-based commercial role responsible for owning a defined book of business within a 3-hour drivable territory spanning the Greater Lexington, KY to Charleston, WV areas. This is a junior role designed as a development pathway to promotion into a full Clinical Sales Manager seat, open to high-potential individuals motivated by clear advancement trajectory and willing to relocate when opportunities arise. Key responsibilities include: • Territory & Account Ownership: Own a defined book of business, build localized account plans segmented by opportunity size and readiness, and maintain active Salesforce pipeline tied to adoption milestones. • Lead Generation: Generate leads, secure first meetings, and route appointments to ensure field effort complements ISR and CSM activity without duplication. • New Account Creation: Design and execute localized prospecting to identify and qualify high-potential targets, secure introductory conversations, and onboard net-new accounts through first order. • Account Activation & Growth: Convert first orders into sustained ordering, drive reorder behavior, expand ordering providers within accounts, and systematically remove ordering friction. • Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with lab directors, infectious disease physicians, pharmacists, and ordering clinicians; lead evidence-based conversations connecting Karius products to clinical context. • Field Partnership: Accept ISR handoffs at meeting-to-usage transition, partner with Medical Science Liaisons on clinical education, and graduate accounts to CSM or earned territory upon promotion. • Performance & Documentation: Align to regional team goals, document all interactions in Salesforce, and share field intelligence with leadership. The role requires significant field travel (up to 75%) within the defined territory, involving extended periods of driving, standing, and walking in clinical and lab settings. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business, with sales experience preferred. Karius provides formal training on products, clinical applications, and patient care impact.
