The Associate Clinical Sales Manager (ACSM) is a field-based commercial role responsible for owning a defined book of business within a 3-hour drivable territory in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This is a junior position designed as a development role and clear pathway to promotion into a full Clinical Sales Manager seat.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning a defined territory and building localized account plans segmented by opportunity size and readiness
- Generating leads and securing first meetings for assigned accounts
- Designing and executing prospecting to identify and qualify high-potential targets
- Onboarding net-new accounts and leading them through first orders
- Converting first orders into routine, sustained ordering and driving reorder behavior
- Expanding the number of ordering providers within each account
- Cultivating relationships with lab directors, infectious disease physicians, pharmacists, and ordering clinicians
- Leading consultative, evidence-based conversations connecting Karius diagnostic products to clinical context
- Partnering with inside sales representatives and clinical sales managers to ensure seamless handoffs and complementary coverage
- Maintaining active Salesforce pipeline tied to adoption milestones
- Documenting customer interactions and sharing field intelligence with leadership
The role requires significant field travel (up to 75%) within the territory, regular driving, and work in hospitals, medical offices, and clinical laboratories. The position reports to a Regional Sales Director with dotted-line reporting to an overseeing CSM/Sr. CSM. Karius provides formal sales training on products, clinical applications, and patient care impact.
