Salary: USD 75,000 - 100,000 / annual

MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is a leading provider of standard, configurable, and custom manufacturing solutions. They're building the MISUMI University Program to teach modern engineering workflows to students and professionals. As an Applied Instructional Designer, you'll translate complex engineering systems and MISUMI's digital manufacturing platform into structured, scalable learning experiences. You'll design and develop curriculum, lab modules, and project-based learning that combines real-world engineering challenges with accessible instruction. Key responsibilities include: - Design curriculum, lab modules, and project-based learning experiences grounded in real engineering systems - Transform demo platforms and training kits into structured educational pathways - Create instructor guides, student materials, assessments, and digital learning assets - Align curriculum with academic standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., ABET) - Collaborate with Applied Content Engineers to ensure technical accuracy and relevance - Work with University Applications Engineers to pilot and refine content in live classroom settings - Develop scalable delivery formats (in-person, hybrid, and self-paced online) - Measure learning effectiveness and continuously improve based on feedback and outcomes Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Education, Instructional Design, or related field - 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or technical training, preferably in STEM or engineering - Strong understanding of STEM education principles and project-based learning methodologies - Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences - Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and digital content development tools - Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams This role offers the opportunity to shape how the next generation of engineers learns modern workflows and tools, working at the intersection of education and advanced manufacturing technology.
