Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for its Enterprise team based in Munich to serve as the technical lead and trusted advisor for Germany's largest businesses adopting Claude AI. In this hybrid role, you will guide enterprise customers from initial conversations through technical evaluation, proof-of-value, procurement, and deployment.
You will partner closely with Enterprise Account Executives and Applied AI Architects to own the technical side of complex, multi-quarter enterprise deals. Your responsibilities include leading technical evaluations and proofs of concept, designing enterprise-grade architectures that meet security and scale requirements, and presenting business value cases to C-level executives. You will advise customer engineering teams on Claude deployment across operations, products, and workflows—covering architecture, agent design, and evaluation frameworks.
A critical aspect of the role is navigating enterprise procurement cycles with multiple stakeholders, including security reviews, compliance assessments, and data residency requirements. You will run executive briefings and technical workshops for both leadership and engineering audiences, then remain the customer's technical advisor throughout systems integration and deployment.
You will also identify patterns across engagements and feed insights back to Anthropic's Product and Engineering teams to inform platform development. Travel to customer sites across Germany for relationship building and executive meetings is expected.
Required qualifications: native or fluent German (written and spoken); 6+ years as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder; pre-sales or technical advisory experience selling into large enterprises (preferably in the German market); demonstrated ability to build business cases and quantify impact for senior decision makers; comfort with C-level and VP-level stakeholder engagement; ownership of technical wins in enterprise deals (evaluations, POCs, technical due diligence); and production experience with LLM-powered applications.
