Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Architect to serve as a pre-sales technical advisor for national security and defense agencies. In this role, you will be the primary technical expert guiding customers through their Claude AI adoption journey—from initial discovery and evaluation through successful deployment and integration.
You will partner closely with account executives, sales teams, product managers, and engineers to translate complex customer requirements into scalable, mission-critical AI solutions. Your responsibilities include:
• Serving as the trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers, coordinating across internal teams to drive customer success
• Partnering with account executives to understand customer requirements and architect technical solutions aligned with business objectives
• Supporting customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise
• Creating and delivering compelling technical content for diverse audiences—from engineering deep dives to executive business-value conversations
• Guiding technical architecture decisions and helping customers integrate Claude into their existing technology stacks
• Developing evaluation frameworks to measure Claude's performance for specific use cases
• Identifying common integration patterns and contributing insights to Product and Engineering teams
• Traveling frequently to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building
• Staying current with the latest LLM capabilities and implementation patterns
You bring 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager. You have deep experience working with US national security, defense, and/or intelligence agencies and hold a TS/SCI clearance. You excel at navigating complex buying cycles with multiple stakeholders and translating technical concepts for C-suite executives, engineering teams, and IT leaders. You have hands-on experience designing scalable cloud architectures, integrating enterprise systems, and are familiar with Python and common LLM frameworks. You combine strong technical communication skills with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and advancing safe AI systems.
