ICEYE is seeking a Mechanical AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) Engineer to join its Global Manufacturing Organisation in Athens. This is a permanent, on-site role reporting to the AIT Engineering Team Leader, with occasional travel for environmental testing and supplier facility visits. You will be the technical authority for mechanical and composite hardware in the Athens facility, responsible for transforming satellite designs into reliable, flight-ready hardware. Your core mission is to define and industrialize AIT processes as the facility scales from subassembly production toward full satellite integration. Key responsibilities include: **AIT Process Definition & Industrialization**: Define mechanical assembly, integration and test (MAITE) processes including integration flows, work packages, and test strategies. Qualify critical processes using PFMEA and control plans. Specify tooling, equipment and workstations, and lead the transition from prototype to series production for high-throughput manufacturing. **Design Maturity & Co-Engineering**: Partner with Engineering from concept phase to align design and production constraints. Apply design for manufacturing, assembly and testability (DFM, DFA, DFT) principles. Support design and readiness reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR, IRR, TRR) to ensure designs are mature before production transition. **Assembly & Integration**: Lead structural, mechanical and thermal assembly and integration of satellites and sub-assemblies. Own the mechanical build standard covering torque, preload, locking methods, bonding, composite handling, cleanliness and ESD discipline. Perform precision alignment and dimensional verification of critical interfaces. **Verification & Environmental Test**: Plan and lead environmental test campaigns (vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, acoustic, EMC). Design or evaluate test fixtures and derive test levels. Own mass properties including mass budget, center of gravity, moment of inertia and launch vehicle interface data. **Ground Support Equipment**: Specify, design, procure and validate mechanical ground support equipment for handling, transport, integration and test. Verify structural margins and define proof load testing protocols. **Supplier Management**: Act as technical authority for mechanical and composite parts from suppliers, covering capability assessment, special process review and First Article Inspection. Define handling, machining, acceptance and inspection standards for composite hardware (CFRP panels, honeycomb assemblies, bonded joints, potted inserts). ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, operating the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. The company serves defense, intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management customers globally, with over 1,000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. ICEYE prioritizes continuous professional development and employee growth.
