Salary: USD 180,000 - 220,000 / annual

The AI Acceleration Engineer role sits within the Finance organization but has company-wide scope. You'll build internal systems and automations that enable every team at Decagon to leverage AI effectively. This is a hands-on technical position focused on solving real business problems, not evaluating tools or writing strategy decks.
Key responsibilities include: owning projects end-to-end from requirements through deployment and maintenance; building web applications and integrations for Finance, Accounting, Legal, People, and Recruiting teams; automating manual processes in billing, revenue recognition, usage data ingestion, and reconciliation; creating MCP servers and agent-facing tooling that enables others to build their own automations; and measuring/communicating impact (time saved, cost reduced, errors eliminated).
You'll work directly with stakeholders to surface automation opportunities and decide whether each requires custom development, an AI vendor solution, or a hybrid approach. The role demands strong fundamentals in systems design, data flow, and maintainability. You're comfortable going deep on billing one quarter and rebuilding recruiting workflows the next.
Required: 6+ years building internal tools, business systems, and/or revenue/finance operations; full project lifecycle ownership; production-quality coding ability (Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript); hands-on experience with AI-native coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex); API integration and deployment experience; ability to build trust and drive complex projects under ambiguity.
Preferred: AI acceleration/transformation initiative leadership; product mindset with focus on adoption; hands-on GCP experience (Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub); custom MCP server development; billing, revenue systems, or ERP implementation experience.
