Wave is building financial services across Africa to create the continent's first cashless economy. As Agent Operations Territory Lead in Mbarara, you will lead a team of 7-10 distributors to expand Wave's user base and manage agent operations in your allocated territory.
Key responsibilities include:
**Agent Quality & Compliance**: Ensure agents meet legal and policy requirements, execute valid contracts, receive proper training before signing, and maintain Wave branding and supplies.
**Liquidity Management**: Coordinate monitoring of cash and e-value availability at agent locations in liaison with the Liquidity team to ensure operational continuity.
**Risk Management & Performance Monitoring**: Manage team oversight through regular reporting on agent performance against targets, identify emerging issues, and assess regional performance.
**Agent Retention & Churn Management**: Identify underperforming agents, troubleshoot issues, recover Wave equipment, and ensure proper debranding when agents leave.
**Field Operations**: Scout zones for distribution expansion, guide distributor focus areas, ensure teams have daily supplies and work materials, and report field feedback to regional leadership.
**Team Development**: Train and onboard new distributors, mentor your team to achieve market impact and targets, champion customer service excellence, and foster a positive work environment.
**Regional Coordination**: Serve as primary contact for agency networks acquiring Wave products; execute operational excellence, cost management, and regulatory compliance.
This is a field-based permanent role requiring work authorization in Uganda. You'll be based in Mbarara with travel to other field locations as needed.
