Divergent 3D is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between design/manufacturing engineering and production teams. This hands-on role focuses on developing scalable, high-reliability automated machining, assembly, anodize, inspection, and cleaning processes for aerospace and defense programs. Key responsibilities include owning daily production execution and resolving floor issues to ensure steady throughput; developing and implementing best practices, processes, and calibration procedures to improve operational capacity; and monitoring WIP flow through work centers. You'll act as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting production issues, refining processes, and enabling scalability through smart programming, tooling, fixturing, and workflow improvements. On the technical side, you'll lead development and continuous improvement of machining, automated assembly, and inspection work centers. You'll collaborate on CNC programming for 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis mills using Siemens NX CAM software, provide feedback leveraging GD&T, tooling, feeds/speeds, and fixturing expertise, and introduce standardized strategies and documentation to improve consistency and reduce cycle time. You'll also leverage metrology and inspection expertise to drive quality assurance. Process development and scalability are core to the role. You'll help integrate new machines, equipment, and tools into production; co-drive design-for-manufacturing conversations to improve manufacturability; develop innovative fixturing strategies for complex additive-manufactured geometries; and support integration of automated machining technologies. Continuous improvement is essential. You'll analyze data to identify trends and inefficiencies, implement corrective actions, create detailed documentation for consistency across shifts, and collaborate with software and data teams to integrate production metrics into real-time dashboards. The ideal candidate is well-versed in aerospace production environments with direct experience supporting production floors, DFM, machining, assembly, coating, and metrology. You thrive on solving complex shop-floor problems and bring a strong process mindset to drive quality, speed, and consistency.
