As Accountant II, you'll partner with the Accounting Manager to own key components of the monthly close and maintain accurate financial reporting. You'll work across transaction flows tied to consumer financing, merchant payments, fees, refunds, and disbursements—the core of Wisetack's business model.
Key responsibilities include: owning monthly close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis); managing bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations; reconciling financial activity across multiple transaction types; reviewing vendor invoices and expenses for accuracy and compliance; preparing recurring financial and operational reports; supporting audits and tax requests; investigating GL discrepancies; partnering with Growth teams to translate new initiatives into scalable accounting processes; and improving processes through automation and AI tools (Claude, etc.).
You'll strengthen controls, improve close efficiency, and help design repeatable processes as the company scales. The role requires ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and a drive to find better ways of working. Finance at Wisetack is strategic—helping the company understand performance, make better decisions, and move quickly, not just report numbers.
