Airwallex is a unified payments and financial platform serving over 250,000 global businesses. This Account Manager role is part of the SME & Growth team, focused on building a high-performing post-sales motion in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
You will own a portfolio of strategic mid-market accounts in the sweet spot between self-service and enterprise customers. Your primary accountability is protecting and growing gross profit while strengthening executive relationships and driving expansion across Airwallex's product suite (FX, Global Accounts, Cards, Issuing, Spend, Payouts).
Key responsibilities include: managing a strategic account portfolio with P&L ownership; building and executing account plans with quarterly business reviews; leading complex, multi-product commercial negotiations; managing multi-entity and multi-country customers with multiple stakeholders; identifying expansion opportunities and converting them to documented Salesforce opportunities; owning customers through operational and compliance events; representing customer needs internally across Product, Risk, FinOps, and Support; and helping establish scalable processes and playbooks for the DACH post-sales function.
You'll work closely with the Account Management Lead and cross-functional teams including Sales, Product, Risk, and Support. This is an opportunity to shape the standards and ways of working for strategic customer management in the region.
Required: 3+ years in Account Management, Customer Success, or Sales with a track record of strong performance; experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles and multi-product accounts; strong analytical skills and Salesforce proficiency; ability to understand technical concepts and APIs; comfort in ambiguous, fast-paced environments; fluent German and English (written and verbal).
Preferred: fintech, payments, or SaaS experience; multi-entity or multi-country customer management; executive-level stakeholder engagement; track record of bespoke commercial negotiations and retention/expansion success.
