Salary: USD 138,000 - 172,000 / annual
New Relic is seeking an Account Manager - Renewals to join their East region team based in Atlanta. This is a quota-carrying role focused on securing, retaining, and expanding revenue from existing customers within a pod-based structure that bridges Customer Success, Sales, and Product.
You will serve as a secondary seller within a unified pod structure, partnering closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams. Your primary responsibilities include:
**Drive Revenue & Retention:**
- Collaborate with pod teams to identify whitespace opportunities, organize enablement sessions with Technical Success Managers, and support Account Executives in driving new growth
- Build positive relationships with economic buyers, decision-makers, champions, and end-users to secure and negotiate contract renewals for direct and partner-managed agreements
- Proactively identify at-risk accounts (downgrades, churn, low consumption) and develop strategic mitigation plans to maintain high renewal rates
- Grow revenue at renewal and throughout the customer lifecycle by increasing Billable Consumption Metric (BCM) for subscription customers and converting Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) customers through sub-account prospecting
**Cultivate Customer Success & Adoption:**
- Coordinate Customer Business Reviews, contribute to Account Plans, and lead renewal discussions
- Support customer onboarding and strengthen product knowledge through account health checks and business value assessments
- Collaborate across Sales, Operations, Customer Solutions, Legal, and Collections to resolve customer issues and advocate on their behalf
**Strategic Execution & Data Analysis:**
- Effectively communicate company value proposition verbally and in writing
- Use analytical skills and data to advise strategy, identify trends, and inform decision-makers
- Maintain accurate Salesforce records including buying programs, contract dates, contacts, and customer sentiment
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of experience in a quota-carrying role, managing renewals, or customer success role, closing large complex software contracts, preferably in SaaS
- Proven ability to build deep, strategic relationships with customer contacts at all levels, including C-level executives
- Experience building, analyzing, and interpreting datasets to manage pipeline for success
- Track record of identifying customer goals and steering value-based discussions toward growth and expansion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated relationship-building ability
- Experience managing time effectively to retain loyal customers and renew contracts early and on time
- Proficiency with G Suite, Salesforce, Salesloft, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
**Bonus Qualifications:**
- Background in Observability, Application Performance Monitoring, and/or DevOps
- Experience with consumption-based selling and platforms
- Familiarity with sales methodologies (Challenger Sale, Command of the Message, MEDDPICC)
- Experience building scaled Customer Success functions
- Project Management certifications (PMP, CSM, CSPO)
