Halter is a climate-tech company transforming sustainable grazing practices through innovative technology. The company enables farmers and graziers to optimize productivity while reducing environmental impact—allowing cattle to graze efficiently without traditional fencing, quad bikes, or herding dogs.
You will lead the Account Manager team responsible for customer retention, renewal, and expansion across the Canterbury, Tasman, and West Coast regions of New Zealand. This is a dual-focused role combining people leadership with direct commercial responsibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a field-based Account Manager team to drive retention and expansion of existing revenue
- Ensuring farmers extract maximum value from Halter's technology and understand its business impact
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with farming customers, their teams, and families
- Coaching, developing, and supporting your team to drive high performance
- Adapting training processes to align with company principles and objectives
- Fostering knowledge-sharing and collaboration across the sales organization
- Working cross-functionally to refine the customer experience and identify service improvements
- Identifying skill gaps and coaching team members for professional growth
- Scaling the team as Halter's regional presence expands, including recruitment and hiring
- Embodying and leading by Halter's operating principles
You bring a track record in people leadership or are an exceptional individual contributor ready to step into management. You have strong relationship-building skills, a coaching mindset, and genuine motivation to develop others. Experience in agriculture, farming, or rural New Zealand is highly valued. You communicate with credibility, operate comfortably in field environments, and thrive in fast-moving, dynamic settings. You demonstrate integrity, humility, curiosity, and the grit to solve hard problems. You lift your team and bring positive energy to collaboration.
