Render is seeking an Account Manager to build and nurture relationships with the company's fastest-growing, highest-potential customers. Render is a modern cloud platform for developers building AI-native, full-stack applications, trusted by over 7 million developers and recently raised $100M in Series C funding (total $260M).
In this foundational role, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 300 commercial accounts using a 1-to-many, programmatic engagement model. You'll be responsible for understanding customers' strategic goals, leading commercial conversations, and driving adoption and expansion across your book. Key responsibilities include:
- Building and running scalable programs that drive adoption and expansion, such as onboarding journeys, product education series, lifecycle campaigns, webinars, and targeted nurture motions.
- Proactively identifying and prioritizing accounts for higher-touch interventions using health signals and product usage data; mitigating churn risks through timely education.
- Owning and executing contracting motions including renewals, annualization/commit motions, and commercial expansion, working closely with Sales, RevOps, and Legal.
- Partnering with Customer Engineers to provide holistic technical guidance, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
- Partnering cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Support to surface customer insights and influence programs and product improvements.
- Tracking and reporting on program performance (adoption, retention, renewal/commit conversion, expansion) and iterating based on results.
- Representing Render with authenticity, curiosity, and technical credibility in customer interactions.
You should have 5+ years of proven experience in a customer-facing role such as Account Management or Customer Success, preferably in cloud infrastructure or developer tooling. You possess a commercial mindset with a track record of managing renewals, identifying expansion opportunities, and negotiating contracts. You're familiar with using product usage data and analytics to identify customer health risks and expansion opportunities. You're a strategic thinker who can connect technical challenges to business goals, excel at building rapport with diverse stakeholders from engineers to C-level executives, and are savvy with product-led growth environments. You're a builder who thrives in ambiguity and is energized by shaping new functions and creating processes.
