Port is an Agentic SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) Platform that helps engineering teams build, govern, and operate software development at scale. Following a $100M Series C funding round, the company is in a phase of significant growth and global expansion.
As a Strategic Account Manager, you will own the complete customer lifecycle from post-sale adoption through complex expansions. Your primary focus is driving customer success, retention, and revenue growth by building deep executive relationships across engineering leadership, product, and finance functions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and execute strategic renewal and expansion strategies for assigned accounts, moving beyond transactional renewals to position Port as a transformative platform partner.
• Build multi-threaded executive relationships across the customer organization (CTO, VP Engineering, DevOps, Finance, Procurement), becoming a trusted advisor and surfacing business challenges and expansion opportunities.
• Drive customer adoption of Port from day one, working with technical teams to remove blockers, establish usage metrics, and ensure rapid ROI realization.
• Diagnose customer platform engineering maturity, developer productivity challenges, and organizational constraints to position Port as a strategic solution that connects technical wins to business outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional coordination with technical support, R&D, and product marketing teams to ensure customer success plans are documented, achievable, and on track.
• Develop an early warning system for churn risk by monitoring usage patterns, adoption velocity, organizational changes, and budget pressures. Proactively intervene with executive business reviews and strategic solutions to prevent customer loss.
• Build a 12-month expansion pipeline per account and drive multi-threaded deals to close.
• Surface customer trends, pain points, and market intelligence to Product and Sales leadership to inform feature prioritization and go-to-market strategy.
