Port is an Agentic SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) Platform that helps engineering teams build, govern, and operate software development with AI agents. Following a $100M Series C funding round, the company is in a growth and global expansion phase.
As a Strategic Account Manager, you will own the complete customer lifecycle from post-sale adoption through expansion and renewal. Your primary responsibilities include:
**Customer Success & Retention**: Drive adoption of Port from day one by working with technical teams to remove blockers, establish usage metrics, and ensure rapid ROI. Develop an early warning system for churn risk by monitoring usage patterns, adoption velocity, executive changes, and budget pressures. Proactively intervene with business reviews and strategic solutions to prevent churn.
**Expansion & Revenue Growth**: Move beyond transactional renewals to strategic account planning. Conduct forward-looking business reviews with executive stakeholders (CTO, VP Engineering, DevOps, Finance) to understand their platform engineering roadmap and identify expansion opportunities. Build a 12-month expansion pipeline per account and drive multi-threaded deals to close.
**Executive Relationship Building**: Map each customer's stakeholder landscape and develop trusted advisor relationships across multiple threads. Use these relationships to surface business challenges, influence adoption decisions, and unlock expansion opportunities that others miss. Position Port as a transformative program, not just a tool.
**Cross-Functional Leadership**: Coordinate with technical customer success teams, R&D, and product marketing to ensure customer success plans are documented, achievable, and on track. Serve as the customer's internal advocate and external outcome driver.
**Strategic Intelligence**: Surface trends, pain points, and opportunities from your accounts to Product and Sales leadership. Your customer insights will inform feature prioritization and go-to-market strategy.
You'll become an expert in platform engineering maturity, developer productivity challenges, and the customer's organizational constraints. Success requires deep diagnostic skills, executive presence, and the ability to connect technical wins to business outcomes that resonate with C-suite stakeholders.
