helloDarwin is a Montreal-based consulting firm that helps Canadian businesses identify and secure government grants, tax credits, and non-dilutive financing. With a team of 60 and 20+ specialized financing consultants, the company has supported hundreds of organizations since 2017.
You will manage a portfolio of active clients—primarily manufacturing, agribusiness, energy, and innovative companies generating $10M–$50M+ in annual revenue across Canada. As the primary point of contact, you'll drive client relationships, understand their business challenges, identify relevant financing programs, coordinate with internal analysts, and ensure clients realize concrete value from the engagement.
Key responsibilities include: owning a client portfolio and serving as the main contact throughout the engagement; conducting discovery meetings to understand client projects, financial priorities, and operational challenges; identifying applicable grants and tax credits, coordinating application assembly with analysts; presenting financing plans and guiding client decisions; quantifying project value and communicating expected financial returns; driving retention through regular check-ins, renewals, and identifying new opportunities within the portfolio; maintaining rigorous CRM discipline in HubSpot.
Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in account management, professional services consulting, or B2B client-facing roles. You should have a consulting background (accounting firm, professional services firm, or equivalent), demonstrated ability to lead executive-level conversations with business leaders, and solid understanding of corporate financing (grants, tax credits, planning). Bonus: familiarity with Canadian government programs (RS&DE, CDAE, C3i, provincial/federal initiatives) and experience in roles where retention and renewal were measured KPIs.
The company offers competitive base salary plus variable compensation tied to retention and renewals, hybrid work at the Montreal office, 4 weeks vacation from day one, and a growing organization with advancement opportunities. You'll work with a specialized team of non-dilutive financing experts and inherit an existing client portfolio—no cold prospecting required.
