The SME & Growth Business team is seeking an Account Executive to drive expansion in the US SME market, focusing on verticals such as ecommerce, SaaS, professional services, and technology-enabled businesses. This is a full remote role based in the Eastern Time Zone (excluding NYC Metro).
You will own the complete sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation, close, and initial customer ramp. Key responsibilities include: developing deep product expertise across Airwallex's payments, cross-border payments, billing, and spend management solutions; exceeding revenue targets through strategic positioning; conducting technical and commercial consultations to identify client needs; collaborating with legal, finance, and strategy teams on partnership agreements; and contributing to sales process refinement and new vertical development.
You'll represent Airwallex at industry events, engage with technology partners, and set standards for excellence within the sales function through exemplary performance and best-practice documentation.
Minimum qualifications: 2+ years of full-cycle fintech sales or proven success selling into finance departments; track record of exceeding targets in technical/solution-based selling; experience selling to ecommerce, SaaS, spend management, or professional services verticals; consistent pipeline generation and outbound efforts; CRM proficiency (Salesforce); strong communication skills; Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Preferred: fintech ecosystem exposure (payments, FX, financial infrastructure); understanding of SME & Growth company challenges in international expansion; consultative, customer-focused sales approach; strategic thinking for partnership discussions; problem-solving orientation; ability to balance multiple priorities in high-growth environments; track record with new product launches or market expansions.
