The SME & Growth Business team is seeking an Account Executive to drive expansion in the US SME market, focusing on verticals such as ecommerce, SaaS, professional services, and technology-enabled businesses. This is a full-cycle sales role requiring you to lead prospecting, consultations, negotiations, and initial customer onboarding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through close and early customer success
- Develop deep expertise in Airwallex's payments, cross-border payments, billing, and spend management solutions
- Exceed revenue targets through strategic positioning of the financial technology suite
- Conduct technical and commercial consultations to identify client needs and propose tailored solutions
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and strategy teams on partnership agreements and contracts
- Contribute to sales process refinement and new vertical development
- Represent Airwallex at industry events and engage with technology partners
You'll need a minimum of 2 years of full-cycle fintech sales experience or proven success selling into finance departments, with a track record of exceeding targets in technical or solution-based selling. Experience selling to ecommerce, SaaS, spend management, or professional services verticals is required. Strong CRM proficiency (Salesforce), analytical skills, and a bachelor's degree are essential.
Preferred qualifications include deep fintech ecosystem exposure (payments, FX, financial infrastructure), understanding of SME/Growth company challenges in international expansion, consultative sales approach, strategic thinking for partnerships, problem-solving orientation, and experience with new product launches or market expansions.
The role is based in Austin with a hybrid work environment requiring at least three days per week in office.
