Venn is Canada's fastest-growing B2B fintech, transforming business banking for Canadian entrepreneurs. The company has scaled to support over 10,000 businesses in under two years and has raised $26.5M from tier-1 investors including Gradient, Left Lane Capital, and Intact Ventures.
As an Account Executive focused on SMB, you will own the complete sales cycle for a high volume of opportunities across Canada. Your responsibilities include qualifying prospects based on company profile, needs, urgency, and fit; conducting discovery calls and product demos that highlight how Venn simplifies banking and replaces legacy financial tools; managing a large pipeline of active opportunities with strong follow-up and deal momentum; and closing a high number of smaller, repeatable deals each month through short, efficient sales cycles.
You'll work closely with Business Development Representatives to ensure smooth handoffs and strong conversion from qualified meetings. Success is measured by weekly and monthly targets for activity, pipeline, closed-won deals, and revenue. You'll also share feedback on customer objections, competitor insights, market trends, and process improvements to strengthen Venn's SMB sales motion.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of quota-carrying SaaS, fintech, or B2B sales experience, ideally in an SMB, transactional, or high-velocity closing role. You should have a proven ability to close 25+ deals per month and experience selling to founders, owners, and operators at small businesses. Strong qualification skills, the ability to manage dozens of active deals simultaneously while staying organized and detail-oriented, and experience in a metrics-driven sales environment are essential. You'll need CRM discipline (HubSpot), strong written and verbal communication skills, and high urgency with a bias toward action in a fast-paced startup environment.
Bonus experience includes B2B fintech, banking, payments, or financial services backgrounds, as well as early-stage or high-growth startup exposure. Venn offers healthy equity ownership, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, and the opportunity to shape the future of business banking in Canada and beyond.
