DocuSign is seeking an Account Executive for the SMB (Small-to-Medium Business) segment based in Tokyo. This is a quota-carrying sales role focused on developing and closing new business or expanding DocuSign's footprint within assigned geographic territories and vertical markets in Japan. You will be responsible for driving new customer acquisition and expanding use cases within existing accounts. Key responsibilities include achieving monthly and quarterly sales quotas, developing and negotiating enterprise-level proposals and contracts, delivering customized sales presentations and product demonstrations via phone and online channels, and forecasting sales activity with accuracy. You will collaborate with Sales Development Representatives, Solutions Engineers, Account Managers, Partner Account Managers, and internal teams including Legal, Security, Professional Services, and Customer Support. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager of SMB Sales. The position requires a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 2 days per week in the Tokyo office. Required qualifications include a BS/BA degree or equivalent sales experience, 4+ years of direct quota-carrying sales experience, native-level Japanese fluency, and intermediate English (reading/writing). You must be proficient with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Google Suite. Preferred qualifications include experience managing and closing complex sales cycles, a demonstrated track record of exceeding quotas in previous roles, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
