The SME & Growth Business team is seeking an Account Executive to drive expansion in the US SME market, focusing on verticals such as ecommerce, SaaS, professional services, and technology-enabled businesses. You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation, close, and initial customer ramp, coordinating internal stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding and strong outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading full sales cycles from prospecting to closing, including early customer success and ramp
- Developing deep product expertise in Airwallex's payments, cross-border payments, billing, and spend management solutions
- Exceeding revenue targets through strategic positioning of the financial technology suite
- Conducting technical and commercial consultations to identify client needs and propose tailored solutions
- Collaborating with legal, finance, and strategy teams to negotiate and execute partnership agreements
- Contributing to sales process refinement and developing new verticals
- Setting standards for excellence through exemplary performance and best practice documentation
You bring a minimum of 2 years of full-cycle B2B tech sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding targets in technical or solution-based selling. You have experience selling to SMBs across ecommerce, SaaS, spend management, finance, or professional services. You demonstrate consistent pipeline generation and outbound efforts, proficiency with CRM systems like Salesforce, and strong analytical and communication skills. A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
Preferred qualifications include fintech ecosystem exposure (payments, FX, financial infrastructure), understanding of SME/Growth company challenges in international expansion, a consultative customer-focused sales approach, strategic thinking for partnership discussions, problem-solving orientation, ability to balance multiple priorities in high-growth environments, and a track record of contributing to new product launches or market expansions.
The role is based in Austin with a hybrid work environment requiring at least three days per week in office.
