The SME & Growth Business team is seeking Account Executives to drive expansion in the US SME market across key verticals including ecommerce, SaaS, professional services, and technology-enabled businesses.
In this role, you will own the complete sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation, close, and initial customer ramp. You'll develop deep expertise in Airwallex's platform—including payments acceptance, cross-border payments, billing, and spend management—and translate complex financial products into clear business value for SME customers. You'll conduct technical and commercial consultations to identify client needs and propose tailored solutions.
Key responsibilities include driving revenue targets through strategic positioning of the financial technology suite, collaborating with legal, finance, and strategy teams on partnership agreements and contracts, and contributing to sales process refinement to enhance efficiency and scalability. You'll also represent Airwallex at industry events and engage with complementary technology partners.
Minimum qualifications: 3+ years of outbound B2B sales experience in fintech, payments, or adjacent technologies with proven success selling into small businesses. You must have a track record of exceeding sales targets in technical or solution-based selling, experience with relevant verticals (ecommerce, SaaS, spend management, finance), consistent pipeline generation, CRM proficiency (Salesforce), and strong communication skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
Preferred: fintech ecosystem exposure (payments, FX, financial infrastructure), understanding of SME/Growth company challenges in international expansion, consultative sales approach, strategic thinking for partnership discussions, problem-solving orientation, ability to balance multiple priorities in high-growth environments, and track record contributing to new product launches.
The role is hybrid, requiring office presence at least three days per week. Based in San Francisco or New York City.
