Sparta is a next-generation commodity trading platform that provides trading desks with clarity, control, and collaboration tools to move faster and trade smarter. The company recently closed a $42M Series B funding round and is scaling rapidly across the business.
This is a new-logo hunter sales role based in London (or Geneva), where you will own new business development across a European territory. You'll build pipeline from scratch, engage trading desks in person, and close complex, multi-product deals. Your buyers include C-suite and VP-level executives, while you'll also need to win over traders, analysts, and risk managers who use the product daily.
Key responsibilities include:
• New Business Development: Research opportunities, initiate outreach, build prospect relationships, conduct product demos, manage trials, and close sales. Develop a high-value pipeline through networking, events, and in-person interactions with energy commodity traders and decision-makers.
• Enterprise Sales Execution: Lead a virtual account team, coordinating with pre-sales, customer success, and marketing to drive deals forward. Use value-selling methodologies (MEDDPICC, Challenger, SPIN) to align solutions with customer pain points. Structure and negotiate complex, multi-product deals tailored to customer needs.
• Forecasting & Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate sales forecasts using HubSpot and sales analytics tools. Track KPIs and refine sales tactics to optimize conversion rates and shorten deal cycles.
You'll have an SDR, pre-sales support, and Customer Success backing you, with a growing European sales team around you.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, preferably in financial services, commodities, or energy markets. Proven track record of hunting and closing complex, high-value deals with six- or seven-figure annual revenue targets. Ability to build pipeline from scratch, identify opportunities, gain access to senior decision-makers, and build internal advocacy. Comfortable running product demos and navigating long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders. Strong knowledge of value-based selling frameworks. Experience orchestrating cross-functional virtual teams.
Based in London or Geneva, you'll be in the office 3-4 days per week and travel frequently for customer meetings and industry events. This is a relationship-driven, face-to-face role.
Nice-to-haves include prior exposure to energy and commodity markets, experience selling financial data platforms or analytics software to traders and analysts, experience at scale-ups or challenger brands, HubSpot familiarity, and additional European language skills.
